Tạ Thu Thâu (1906–1945) was a Trotskyist, the leader of the Fourth International in Vietnam.
Ta Thu Tao was first politically active communist among Vietnamese immigrants in France, from 1926 until 1930. He was expelled from France and after his return to Vietnam, in 1931 formed the Indochinese Bolshevik-Leninist Group, publishing the journals La Lutte (The Struggle) and La Verité (The Truth).
He was arrested and incarcerated in Poulo-Condore during the war. After the end of World War II, Ta Thu Thau became the uncontested leader of Trotskyism in Vietnam, but his political current lost any significant influence. He was assassinated by the Viet Minh in 1945.
