Syrena

Syrena was a brand of Polish automobiles manufactured from 1957 to 1972 by FSO of Warsaw and from 1972 to 1983 by FSM in Bielsko-Biala. 177,234 were made in the FSO and 344,077 in the FSM, total 521,311.
Syrena was produced in models: 100, 101, 102, 103, 104 and most popular 105, all were 2-door sedan with two-stroke engine. From 1968 a Model named laminat has been produced . There was also produced van Syrena Bosto and a pick-up R20. A coupe Syrena Sport and modern hatchback Syrena 110 of 1966 remained prototypes only.
Syrena in the Polish mythology is a draconian snake goddess or half woman, half fish being (see: mermaid) who protects the river Wisła and the Polish capital city, Warsaw.
