The Symbiosis Insitute is a family of 30 educational institutions on 8 campuses in Pune, India. It has some 35,000 students.

Symbiosis is a Greek term meaning 'Living together for the mutual benefit of each other. Symbiosis is an educational and cultural center of international standards. Established in the year 1971, under the patronage of Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, President & Founder Director, it is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust, Act, 1950.

The college is centrally located, being 7 Km's from the Pune Railway Station and 15 Km's from the Airport. Pune is the cultural and educational capital of Maharashtra. The climate here, is temperate and pleasant throughout the year, requiring light warm clothes between December and February. Being cosmopolitan in nature, Pune has a very good transport system and accommodation too is not difficult to find. The unique feature of this beautiful city is that it is modern and yet traditional.

The objective of Symbiosis, right from its inception, has been to promote and protect the feeling of togetherness, caring, sharing, and understanding between Indians and our brethren from overseas.

Its Major Constituent Colleges are Symbiosis Institute of Business Management(SIBM), Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS)[1], Symbiosis Society's Law College (SSLC)and Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR)
