[edit] Canada's Next Top Model
During the first episode of the fledgling Canadian series, Majcher described herself as "mellow" and "laid-back". She attended a dinner at a sophisticated restaurant, albeit mistakenly, dressed in the jeans and snowboarding jacket she had worn earlier in the day.
At the judging, Sylvie was called "awkwardly brilliant", her photo quite well received, though Jay Manuel, serving as a guest judge, stated that her choice of dress was "killing [his] vision of that girl [he] saw that day". Jay then said that only someone like Kate Moss, would "roll in" with her type outfit, implying that she should be trying to impress the judges and prove herself. Majcher replied "So what?", inciting more criticism and possibly leading to her eventual downfall and elimination from the show. Judge Stacey McKenzie said that Sylvie's clothing led her to be believe that she did not "want to be [there]".
When deliberating, Tricia Helfer, host and judge, noted that Majcher's attitude "worried" her. Helfer, unimpressed, also commented about Majcher's appearance at the dinner, stating that one should know when to "spice it up" and when to be "casual and chilled out"; she added that she didn't think Sylvie "cared" about the competition.
