[edit] Location
The school is located between Hamlin Road and a cul-de-sac called Longford Street. The school is near the Mt Wellington Shopping Centre and the new Sylvia Park Mall. The majority of the class rooms and administration blocks is in the south east of the school around the netball courts. To the north of the school, are more netball courts, owned by the Auckland City Council, named Savage Park. Located here also are the Maungarei Scout den and Mt Wellington Kindergarten. In the northwest of the school grounds is a massive playing field. In the centre of the school is the school hall.
Recently the former library has been turned into a wharenui (Maori meeting house) and two former classrooms have been turned into the library.
[edit] Rivalries
Traditionally, Sylvia Park School had a rivalry with the other local Schools: Bailey Road School, Panmure District School and Stanhope Road School.
