Hi Omer! I realise you're all set for your trip and probably won't receive this until who-knows-when...but I'd like your permission to use one of your pics on the SYL Wikipedia page. Specifically, the one titled "SYLpress11.jpg" from your website. It is a recent and very cool shot, and would really enhance the page. I've just done an overhaul of that page, as it was looking rather shoddy. It doesn't have a band photo though, and Wikipedia is VERY strict aboot copyright violation, especially with images.
Hi Dave! Yes, absolutely, you can use the picture for that, not a problem!! Thanks man!! Omer.

In addition to the fair-use assertion shown on this page, the copyright holder has granted permission for this image to be used in Wikipedia. This permission does not extend to third parties. | |
This tag must be used in conjunction with another fair-use image tag. If no other tag is present on this page, and this image was uploaded after May 19, 2005, please speedily delete this image. |
This work is a copyrighted publicity photograph. It is believed that the use of some such photographs to illustrate:
- the person(s), product, event, or subject in question
- where the image is unrepeatable, i.e. a free image could not be created to replace it
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law.
Other use of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use and Wikipedia:Publicity photos.
Additionally, the copyright holder may have granted permission for use in works such as Wikipedia. However, if they have, this permission likely does not fall under a free license. As well, commercial third-party reusers of this image should consider whether their use is in violation of the subject's publicity rights, if the photograph is of a person.
To the uploader: This tag should only be used for images of a person, product, or event that is known to have come from a press kit or similar source, for the purpose of reuse by the media. Please add a detailed fair use rationale as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the image, the photographer, and copyright information. Additionally, if the copyright holder has granted permission, please provide further details as to the terms.
Please note that our policy usually considers fair use images of living people that merely show what they look like to be replaceable by free-licensed images and unsuitable for the project. If this is not the case for this image, a rationale should be provided proving that the image provides information well beyond simple identification or showing that this image is exceptionally difficult to replace by a free-licensed equivalent.
