Sydney Wildlife World

Sydney Wildlife World is a zoo in the city of Sydney, Australia officially opened in September 2006. It is located on the shores of Darling Harbour and is attached to Sydney Aquarium.

In May 2002, Sydney Aquarium Pty Ltd announced plans to expand the existing aquarium site, in order to incorporate a zoological garden. Following this announcement, Sydney Aquarium Pty Ltd changed its name to Sydney Attractions Group. Construction was begun in November 2004 on the site, and was completed in August 2006. It is now the major competitor to Sydney's famed Taronga Zoo.

The Sydney Wildlife World is unusual for a zoo in that it is entirely enclosed and air-conditioned. The AUD$45 million development features a one-kilometre walkway which snakes through 7000 square metres of enclosures [1]. The enclosure features around 6000 native animals [2].
