Sychdyn

Sychdyn (Soughton in English, although this is rarely used) is a village in Sir Y FFlint (En. Flintshire), Wales. It is situated on the A5119 road, and is just over 1 km north of the county town of Yr Wyddgrug (En. Mold). The village contains 1 pub, a Spar shop, a post office, a chapel, and a horse riding school. Soughton Hall is a large country mansion-turned-hotel siuated on the eastern outskirts of the village. Notable guests that have stayed at this exquisite country residence include Luciano Pavarotti, Michael Jackson and King Juan-Carlos of Spain. Lower Soughton-Hall is situated about 1.5 km to the south of Soughton Hall Michae Owen lived there.

Sychdyn is completely surrounded by farmland and undisturbed woodland and is a desirable location for many people who work in nearby Chester, Liverpool or Wrexham who wish to live in a quiet country village with excellent views of the Welsh countryside.
