Sworn In
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sworn In were an English hardcore punk band based in Northampton.
Formed in early 2001 members included Delaney Jae,Buddy Hell, Steve Meader and Alex and Matt Smith and were known for their abrasive live shows and distinct fashion sense.
They were part of the lyrically harsh yet poetic crop of punk bands to come out in the early 2000s that included Panic, Carry On and friends American Nightmare/Give Up The Ghost (who are sighted as being one of their early influences).
Combining the sound of aggressive fast hardcore with the athestetic of the 1980s British post-punk/new wave movement, the band released a self titled 7"/Cd on Bridge Nine Records in USA and Reflections Records in Europe. The release's subject matter was that of dark relationship satire.
A cover of She's Lost Control by Joy Division was also briefly released before they put the band "on ice".
The band also completed several tours throughout England, Europe and the east coast of America.
Matt and Alex Smith are currently members of the hardcore band Jealous while Delaney Jae and Buddy Hell currently play in the new wave/punk outfit Silicon Vultures
