Swizz Beatz (born Kasseem Dean on August 30, 1978) is a New York-based American hip hop record producer/rapper of African American, Jamaican & Puerto Rican descent, and founder of the music label Full Surface Records. His songs are usually very "bouncy" and energetic, though his early work was known to be quite minimalistic and arguably experimental—it reportedly took him an average of only 10 to 15 minutes to complete a song. In most modern Swizz Beatz productions, the quick phrase 'Swizzy' is uttered at the beginning and is accompanied by guest vocals from Swizz himself, although often uncredited.

Swizz is the son of Terrence Dean, the founder of TD ENT-MGMT (Terrence Dean Entertainment Management), and is the nephew of Ruff Ryders founders Chivon, Joaquin, and Darrin Dean, serving as somehwat of an in-house producer for their label. He is married to R&B singer Mashonda.

Swizz is currently working on the new albums of Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Cassidy, Usher, Nas, JoJo, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Lil' Kim, Gwen Stefani, Marc Anthony, Eve, Jadakiss, Trina, Styles P, Eminem, Mya, The Game, Ashanti, Mashonda & Yung Wun. He's going to be on the new 2Pac album along with Krayzie Bone. He will release a new solo album soon. His favorite rappers are Cassidy, T.I. and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but also others as well.

He's currently also working on his first solo album. Guest include Cassidy, Kanye West, Mashonda, T.I., Eve, Krayzie Bone, Busta Rhymes, DMX, & others. It will have Swizzy himself producing the album & other producers such as and Kanye West, Just Blaze, Buckwild & others.

He owns a Parking Lot & a Club called "Club CBNC" in Arizona.
