Switzerland held a national preselection to choose the two songs that would go to the Eurovision Song Contest 1956. It was held on April 28, 1956.

"Das alte Karussell" and "Refrains" won the national preselection, and "Refrain" went on to win the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest.
