Sweet Sensation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sweet Sensation was the name of a female dance music trio from the Bronx, New York who specialized in freestyle between 1987 until 1992. Group members were Betty LeBron and sisters Margie and Mari Fernandez. In the late '80s they placed several songs on the Hot Dance Club Play chart, including "Never Let You Go," which hit number one. In 1989 Mari was replaced by Sheila Vega and the group earned its biggest hit in 1990 when the ballad "If Wishes Came True" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
They are not to be confused with the soul group from Manchester, England also called Sweet Sensation ("Sad Sweet Dreamer," UK #1 in 1974 and Hot 100 #14 in 1975).
In 2005, the dance single "My Body Tu Cuerpo", credited to Dynamix Presents Sweet Sensation, was released on Kult Records, with LeBron on lead vocals, now under the moniker of Betty Dee.
