[edit] Sanatorium
Swami:
You may have noted that I made a minor rewrite to the article in question sometime last year in an attempt to upgrade it to a 'keeper'. While someone suggested moving it to Wikionary, no one has as of yet, apparently. The term is very much in declining usage in American English, quite likely in large part due to constant confusion with "sanitarium", which was in former usage as meaning "mental hospital". YOU would seemingly be most qualified to write both a Wikipedia and a Wiktionary article given your background and knowledge. I would be happy to help edit any Wikipedia article that you would submit. Rlquall 22:21, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- You can open the "edit this page" tab on the existing article, much in the way that you sent your message to me. Then you can reword or rewrite it in any way that you see fit. Once it meets your satifsfaction, you may choose to click on the "show preview" button and see exactly how it will look as a Wikipedia article. You can then either edit it further or select "save page" and then click on it. At this point it will appear as the newly-revised Wikipedia article and will remain as such until you or someone else chooses to edit it again.
Thanks for your interest in this fasicnating project. Rlquall 01:28, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hinduism
Can you please also contribute to the article on Hinduism and the discussions going-on in Talk:Hinduism (with a neutral point of view, though)? -- Sundar (talk • contribs) 04:38, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks - Sure
Yes, Swamijee, I actually want to include other section also, like herbs used by tribal, and so many other points. Medical facilities, as suggested by you, will also find a mention. You are most welcome to contribute the materials, I will try to do my best. The article on Jharkhand shall continue to grow with assistance and edits from all corners. --Bhadani 04:41, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Request for photographs
Respected Swamijee, as suggested by you, I have added introductory materials on Health in the article Jharkhand. It will be very kind of you, in case, you can send one photograph of the Sanatorium - of course, as per your convenience. Photgraph will improve the quality of the article. The photograph may be sent through email. Today, I have sent one email at your official address. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks. In case, you find time, you may also have a look at Bihar Patna Mahabodhi Temple and kindly give your valuable suggestions. As regards, Ranchi article, I am still trying to improve upon from earlier / present versions. Please also suggest topics on which wikipedia should have articles, I will try to do whatever I can do. --Bhadani 15:47, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ramakrishna Mission
namaste. Yes, the article at that chennai centre site can be used; but we need to produce the proof that it is not copyright violation (can be included in the talk page of the article on mission). That should not be a problem though. Please take the initiative and go ahead. Also there is lot of scope for improvement in the article at Chennai centre. Looking forward for more contribution from your side - especially on Sarada mission, all the direct disciples of Ramakrishna, major first/second generation monks, important centres and their work (like institute of Culture) etc. Ramashray 06:38, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
rev. Swamiji, namaste. The article on sri Ramakrishna on wikipedia is NPOV. Pls see the talk page. Could you re-write or suggest ang get some good material to be put there. Your contribution will be highly useful. It is really pain to see NPOV put on there. I am not that intelligent to handle the issue. pranams Ramashray 12:47, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
rev. Swamiji, namaste. I have put your draft article to be considered insted of present main article. Thanks for your write-up which includes many important points hithertho missing. The wikipedia has provided good forum for putting info and it is only possible due to contribution of all kinds of users, insiders/outsiders/neutral etc. I was also too much annoyed when article Survey of Hindu organisations was nominated for 'deletion' {subsequently people voted not to delete it} !! I had taken great trouble in putting the data. To avoid deletion, now i am in the process of splitting it into small articles. I watched for some days the article on RSS and Partition of India. The articles, specially on RSS were often subject to vandalism and biased data. But the people still reverted them back to netural versions. May we derive such inspiration from then :) Isn't it said "na dainyam, na palayanam" !! pranams Ramashray 07:05, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
maharaj, I have put a notice stating that the artilce on Ramakrishna be merged (rather replaced) with the draft copy written by you. If there are no objections being raised, i will replace that article. I think we have waited more than enough. Also could we start adding materials on other direct disciples, past presidents, older generation monks etc. If you can let me know the source books, i will also try to add them. pranams. [edit] Guru
Hello Swami.
There is a long ongoing dispute at the article on Guru. I was wondering if you would like to give us your opinion of the article as it stands. --goethean 12:28, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Emblem issue
Maharaj, All images that we upload to the wikipedia need to have some kind of copyright designation. Otherwise they will be removed from the site in due course of time. I could not understand the copyright status (you may visit wikicommons site, goto file upload section which details different kinds of copyright status).Since i dont own the picutes and i just got them scanned from the books, i was not sure what copyright status i could put for them. I still have many picture of past presidents, senior monks of the order etc. which i wanted to put on the site - but could not as i could not follow the different copyright conditions. Would be happy if you can let me know what copyright i can put for such pictures, many of them are from the mission publications and archieves. Ramashray 06:43, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Nivedita
Swami Vimokshananda, I think biography articles should primarly focus on aspects like the works and writings of the writers themselves. Writers and authors are very often commenting, praising or critizising other authors and writers. In fact, there are many important writers who have written poems, essays and books about other important writers, whom they also often have known personally and usually such texts are not directly written in encyclopedic articles, but rather commented upon or mentionned under "references". Or also in Wikisource.
I think it would be more encyclopedic to write something about the relationship between Nivedita and Vivekananda and about the work they did together. We could also link to the "benediction" poem. The Sister Nivedita article is still very short, more should be written about her literary works and about her life and activities. At the moment, I'm not able to this however, since I haven't read any of her works yet.
However, I will put the benediction back for the moment, but I think it would be better if it could later be exchanged with some more encyclopedic information about the work of these two people. --Alcidebava 11:36, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
Maharaj, Do you have picture of Flag of India designed by Sister Nivedita ? Also the modified one, which for the first time started depicting saffron colour, which has been retained since then ? Flag of India is a featured article, and this pictures will make it more complete. I had put the information regarding Nivedita changing the colour from original red to saffron, and provided link from a 'hindu' site regarding this. But for reasons best known, it was removed and reason was stated something like 'source cannot be confirmed' etc. Ramashray 04:15, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Geo-locations with intra-wiki links of Shakti Peethas
Thanks a lot Swamiji for updating the locations. I tried to do some sometime back, but could not as I did not have any source. With this info, this article is the best web-source on Shakti Pithas now. Thanks.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:36, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Swamiji, I added a bit to Shakti Peethas to wikify and make the article better using Banglapedia.Bakaman Bakatalk 16:32, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Vishalakshi
You're quite welcome. And it's fairly simple. If you click on the link that says "recent changes" you can see all the newest edits. If you further click the "new" link, you can see all newly created articles. So if you feel like you can contribute in some way, it gives you the chance to get in "on the ground floor" as it were.Bjones 17:04, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RIMS
With reference to your query on my talk page, I have created a disambiguiation page at RIMS rather than the page which redirected to the Kyoto Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences page. The RIMS disambiguation page now has a link to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences article, which is an article that does need some editing help.--Golden Wattle talk 21:52, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Minor edits
Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. That all your edits are marked as minor may be something to do with how you have set up your preferences; I think you need to turn off Mark all edits minor by default. which is an option on the Edit tab - see Help:Preferences Regards --Golden Wattle talk 02:07, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vishnupad Temple
Nmaste Swamiji,
Thanks for pointing out the error in summary of the picture of the Vishnupad Temple. I'm extremely sorry for my mistake and the trouble caused to you.
On a different note, it was really very gratifying to find a sanyasi from a noble organization like RKM, disseminating noble information on the net. We really need you. I mostly write stuffs related to Bihar on the net. I'm a great admirer of Swami Vivekananda and RKM. Two of my friends, who are presently studying with me are from RKMV Deoghar. I saw your website http://www.rkmtbs.org . You people are really doing a very eleemosynary thing and that too in that part of the country which has fallen prey to centuries of neglect and exploitation. I along with some of my friends immensely desire to work for the development Bihar (I do not consider Jharkhand as separate from Bihar). It is very unfortunate that we had to leave Bihar for studies. But, we are definite that we will return very soon.
At present, we are getting ourselves aware of the conditions prevailing in the state through discussions and readings. In the holidays we visit the villages in Bihar and talk to the people and discuss with them the real hurdles that are blocking there development. For, example this summer we went to the naxal afected areas of Bihar like Larsa (Jehanabad) and Paliganj (Patna). Till now we have done a lot of research on the Naxal Revolution and in the process we are also planning to make a documentary (we have already taken several interviews of the naxals and their leaders).
We would be grateful to you if you could be in regular touch with us. As we want to make a network of people dedicated for the development of Bihar. Our next holiday will be in December this year. We would like to visit your centre during that period. Please mail me in this regard (by this i'll also get ur e-mail id).

[edit] Hello
Namaskar Swamiji! Your wish has been granted ! The image has been added to Jagaddhatri. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:12, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image adding
Hello! Once you have uploaded an image in Commons, you can add the image to any article in Wikipedia/any other sister wikiprojects easily. Just treat the image as if you have uploaded it in wikipedia itself! The image you uploaded in Commons was named Image:2006-11-01 Jagaddhatripuja5 06 009.jpg. You just have to copy the name, and place it in the article. Then add necessary parameters. For example, in this case I placed the folleing thing in "Pauranik lore" section of the article:
[[Image:2006-11-01 Jagaddhatripuja5 06 009.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Jagaddhatri Puja in [[Ramakrishna Mission]], [[Ranchi]]]]
That is, the name of the image, then "left" (direction of placement ), "thumb" (the style of image - thumbnail view), "250px" (size of the image - pixel), and a description of the image. Each parameter is seperated by a "|" (vertical dash). The whole thing is preceeded and followed by 2 third brackets on each side. Thats all you have to do. Please ask in case you could not understand something. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:03, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image complements
Pronam Swamiji! Thanks for uploading such a nice image of Maa Jagaddhatri. I've added the image to the Hdeity template image in the article because it looks better (good pixels). The Chandannagar's image (Image:Maa Jagadhattri Chandannagar.jpg) has been added later in the article. Good luck. --Victor 05:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- By Hdeity template (infobox) I meant {{Hdeity infobox}} which is at the top right hand corner of the article. About adding Maa Jagaddharti to the template {{Hindu Deities and Texts}}, adding more names makes the template too large/cumbersome. The editor might have said this because he/she wanted only 1 line of Goddesses. We can always have multiple lines if necessary like {{French overseas empire}}. Maybe what we can do is that leave a request/consensus in the talk page of {{Hindu Deities and Texts}} for the line expansion to include all goddesses/gods. Anyway the "more..." in the template links to Category:Hindu goddesses where we've Jaggadhatri present. --Victor 23:26, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ramakrishna Temple and Categorization
We are in the process of cleaning up some temples in the top level category, as Hindu temples in India is too big a category. There are thousands of temples and the category will blow up. That is why people have moved the temples to inner categories, like hindu temples by deity, hindu temples by location etc. I found this one lone in the top level category, and didnt think it fitted in. I feel Hindu temples in West Bengal is a much better category to be in. Kindly look at the top level category and tell me your thoughts on it. Balajiviswanathan 06:12, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
