[edit] Points Of Differentiation

SwapAce has international patent for several unique features.

  • Electronic Bartering System. Useful for people, businesses and community groups that are in a "cash poor" situation they allow a user to swap virtually anything (eg. products, services etc) including money.
  • Electronic Negotiation System allows a user to make offers, and multiple "counter" offers, to negotiate the terms and conditions of the transaction.
  • "Offer Management System" allows a user to make multiple offers to multiple people, yet ensuring that the user only enters into the transactions that they desire (e.g. helps with automatic stock control and protects business from customers that don't complete a sale). This overcomes a problem common to other auction systems where users who want to buy a particular product are limited to bidding in a single auction at a time, otherwise they may win more than one auction and be committed to purchasing more than what they need. The "Offer Management System" allows people to make multiple offers to multiple people. When any one of their offers is accepted all the other offers are automatically retracted simultaneously (to ensure that you are not committed to more than one transaction).
  • "Reverse" auction system allows buyers to potentially obtain the best price for a product/service.
  • Enhanced support for communities: can transact in private groups and the option to obtain/provide free items.
  • Ability to obtain and give away for free items (e.g. products & services).
  • The free features make it attractive for not-for-profit activities.

[edit] The power of swapping

On July 12, 2005, Kyle MacDonald (of Montreal, Canada) announced that he would like to swap one red paperclip for a house (through a series of swaps). One year on, he has been offered a house in Kipling Saskatchewan.[6]

To help other people to achieve what Kyle has done, SwapAce.com implemented the ability for other people to do similar swaps for free at OneRedPaperclip.com.au
