[edit] History
Swan Valley High School was established in 1971 in order to meet the demand for a local high school for the students of the area's four elementary schools - Havens, Shields, Liskow and Carr School, and the Swan Valley Middle School. Prior to Swan Valley's establishment, the high school level students went predominantly to Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw or other schools in Saginaw Township. But as the area around Shields grew and became more developed, many local leaders felt that the time had come for a local high school.
