Swami gimmick
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A swami gimmick is any device used by a mentalist or magician used to covertly write information down for the purpose of creating the illusion of precognition or telepathy. The most common Swami Gimmick is a nail writer or thumb tip writer. These are small pieces of pencil lead that are attached to the finger or thumb with glue, a fake finger cover, or pushed under the finger nail. They are used to write while holding a piece of paper in front of a spectator after a question has been answered and then showing that the piece of paper held the correct answer all along.
These gimmicks are used by famous magicians such as Banacheck, Criss Angel, Marc Salem, and David Blaine. It is possibly one of the best cheap gimmicks for mentalism of all time.
