Sverepec is a village in the Považská Bystrica District, Trenčín Region. As of 2004, it had 1 102 inhabitants. Until recently, traffic on the main road between Bratislava and Žilina had to pass through the village, when in 2005 a new motorway section of D1 was opened, bypassing the village.
