Sven Butenschön (born March 22, 1976 in Itzehoe, Germany) is a Canadian professional hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Third Round, Fifty-seventh Overall. He has played for the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Hamilton Bulldogs, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Syracuse Crunch, Manitoba Moose, IHL Houston Aeros, Cleveland Lumberjacks and the Western Hockey League Brandon Wheat Kings.
