Sveg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sveg is a market town by the Ljusnan River, and the seat of Härjedalen Municipality, in Jämtland County, Sweden. It has a population of about 2,500.

There are no towns in the historical province of Härjedalen, which is rather odd and the reason why a small village could be the seat of a province. Sveg has existed by that name since the 1270s but did not become a market town until 1937.
