"Svën Höek" is an episode of The Ren and Stimpy Show. It originally aired as Episode 4 of Season 2 on November 7, 1992. It is the first single half-hour episode of the series. It was directed by John K., animation directed by Bob Jaques, written by Bob Camp and John K., storyboarded by Jim Smith and Bill Wray

Ren is expecting his cousin Svën to come over. This excites Ren, because Ren remembers Svën as an intelligent young dog, and believes that he can get the intellectual stimulus from his cousin that he fails to get from Stimpy. When Svën arrives, however, Ren finds--much to his mortification-- that Svën has become an obese, idiotic, canine version of Stimpy. Stimpy and Svën bond instantly. The two compare their brains, both of which are small enough to be removed through the earhole. The ritual also includes Svën showing Ren a ball made up of every bandage he has ever used in his life; Stimpy reciprocates by showing Svën his collection of "magic nose goblins" while stating proudly "I picked them myself!".

While Ren is out at work Stimpy and Svën trash the entire house, among other misdeeds:

  • contaminating Ren's collection of rare incurable diseases
  • painting Ren's collection of fossil dinosaur droppings like easter eggs
  • covering Ren's record collection with bubblegum
  • scattering used cat litter throughout the house
  • playing the board game "Don't Whiz on the Electric Fence!" which consists of an electric fence sitting in the middle of a game board – the object of the game is to urinate ("whiz") on the board in such a way that the stream avoids contacting the electric fence.

Ren arrives home to discover the mess whilst Stimpy and Svën are playing the board game. To show his immense anger and contempt towards Stimpy and Svën, Ren decides to urinate upon their favourite board game, unaware of the live electric fence. The resulting explosion kills everyone and destroys the house.

The episode concludes with Svën, Ren, and Stimpy all in Hell, where Satan welcomes them with a big grin: "So, you whizzed on the electric fence, didn't you?"

[edit] Trivia

  • This episode was done mostly by Spumco, and finished by Games Animation.
  • At the beginning, Bob Camp, head of Games, is dancing in lederhosen and playing the accordion. John K. was angry over this because of Games Animation finishing this with a bad soundtrack and a "God awful opening credits".
  • A scene was cut out on all airings in which Ren threatens to gouge Stimpy and Svën's eyes out. It was poorly put back in on The First and Second Seasons DVD with the color brighter and a time code in. A fan fixed this and it might be used in the Ultimate DVD Collection.
  • Originally, "Don't Whiz on the Electric Fence" was pee instead of whiz, but Nick couldn't allow the word pee, but Nick said that whiz was okay.
  • According to the DVD, they now have a website for "the loyal order of stupids". It's called motloos.com.

[edit] Gritty Kitty Litter Commercial

This short starts with stock footage from "Stimpy's Big Day" with the Muddy Mudskipper theme song. On the commercial, we first see litter stick on a wall with the announcer on the right saying that Gritty Kitty is best when it comes to absorbency, order control, and flavor. But, then, he mentions that Gritty Kitty comes with a prize inside, which includes: a shaven yak litter box caddy, a live crab, a fake toe, a real toe, real dynamite, a sandwich, and a fish clip. The announcer also mentions a mask of Stimpy (he got his face on the Gritty Kitty bag in "Stimpy's Big Day"), printed on the back of the bag, and finally says the slogan: is it doesn't say "Gritty Kitty", it stinks.

[edit] What Will We Do 'Til Then- Blow Up Like a Balloon

Once again, Stimpy can't say "goodbye", so Ren suggests for him to eat olive loaf and something else, but they don't fit Stimpy's personality. Ren finally suggested for Stimpy to blow himself like a balloon. Stimpy did so, and said, "goodbye" in a high, squeaky voice. And Ren, to make it funny in his point of view, pops Stimpy.

[edit] Trivia

  • Billy West probably does Ren's voice in this segment because he sounds different.
  • This is the only "What Will We Do 'Til Then?" segment in Season 2.
