Suzuka Ohgo

Suzuka Ohgo (大後寿々花 Ōgo Suzuka?), born 5 August 1993, in Kanagawa, Japan) is a Japanese child actress. Besides acting, she is also attending school and is now in the eighth grade. She has a variety of hobbies including classical ballet, ikebana, rollerblading, snowboarding, playing the piano, and skiing.
Ohgo began acting in 2000 when she joined Sunflower (Himawari), a theatrical company. She debuted with the company at the Meijiza Theatre in Story of a National Thief. She also has appeared in various TV shows and commercials.
In early 2005, Ohgo had her film debut in Japan with Year One in the North (北の零年 Kita No Zeronen?), directed by Isao Yukisada, with the well known actor Ken Watanabe. She played the role of Tae Komatsubara. In December of 2005, she debuted in Hollywood with Memoirs of a Geisha, directed by Rob Marshall. In Memoirs of a Geisha, Ohgo plays the child version of the main protagonist Nitta Sayuri (the adult version is played by Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi), however as a child she is called Sakamoto Chiyo instead of Sayuri.
Ohgo has finished filming Symphony of Joy (バルトの楽園, Baruto No Gakuen?), which is scheduled for release in June, in time for the World Cup. The film is set during the Great War (World War I) at a prisoner-of-war camp. Matsue Utaka, the commandant of the Japanese POW camp Bandoburo in Tokushima on Shikoku island, is a fair commandant who helps to ensure the humane treatment for the German, Austrian and Hungarian prisoners of war. Ohgo stars as a girl of mixed German-Japanese heritage who is trying to find her German father who may be held there.
