Suzlon Energy (SUZLON) on the National Stock Exchange of India Mumbai, India and 532667 on the Mumbai Stock Exchange) is Asia's largest fully integrated wind power company.

Tulsi Tanti, a former textile producer, moved into wind energy production and founded Suzlon energy after facing increasing energy costs. Supported by the exponential growth of Suzlon energy, he was named as India's eighth richest person by Forbes at end of the year 2005 with a networth of $3.7 billion.

Suzlon has its corporate headquarters in Pune, India, and global headquarters in Denmark. It has interests in various countries such as India, Australia, U.S.A., China, Denmark, Germany, and Belgium. In the year 2006, it reached a definitive agreement for acquisition of Belgium firm Hansen Transmissions, specializing in gearboxes for wind turbines, for $565 million.

Suzlon operates what was once Asia's largest wind park of 201MW near the Koyna reservoir in Satara district of Maharashtra - The Vankusawade wind park. It also operates a 58 mw wind park in the Western Ghats. Besides this, it has supplied turbines for the Minnesota project comprising twelve wind farms in Minnesota. It also has recently opened a turbine blade plant in Pipestone, Minnesota [1].
