Suzanne Roberts Theater
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On February 1, 2006, the Philadelphia Theatre Company officially broke ground on its new home, Philadelphia Theatre Company’s Suzanne Roberts Theater. The new theater will offer artistically enhanced productions of the new American plays and musicals on which the Company’s mission is based. Equally important, it will allow Philadelphia Theatre Company to expand its educational and outreach programs that serve thousands of school children each year.
A resident performer in the Plays and Players Theatre since 1982, Philadelphia Theatre Company will open its 2007/2008 season in the new venue in the fall of 2007. Philadelphia Theatre Company’s first year in the Suzanne Roberts Theater will also mark the company’s 32nd anniversary.
Designed by KieranTimberlake Associates, LLP using the principles of Universal Design in key areas, the new theater will reflect our strong commitment to accessibility for actors and audiences alike.
