Surpac Minex Group is an international independent software vendor which provides mine planning software to the mining industry. Mining companies collct a great deal of data from such sources as aerial photographs, geological surveys, traditional surveys, drill hole data, and magnetic data. The mine planning software marketed by Surpac Minex Group helps the companies to view and manipulat the data in three dimensions. Technical specialists are then able to build a virtual mine and to use it to model the optimal way of mining the resource.

Lateritic deposits such as coal and lateritic nickel use the Minex range of software and other resources that are not lateritic (e.g. gold) are modelled in the Vision product.
