Surovikino

Surovikino (Russian: Суровикино) is a town in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Chir River with the Don (Tsimlyansk Reservoir), 155 km west of Volgograd. Population: 20,338 (2002 Census); 18,336 (1989 Census).
It was founded as a settlement around the railway station of Surovikino, which opened in 1900. Town status since 1966.
