Supreme Warlord Harrsk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Harrsk (? - 12 ABY) was, in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, an Imperial officer turned Warlord.
At the Battle of Endor, Harrsk commanded an Imperial Star Destroyer that suffered heavy damage. Covered in severe burns from the subsequent fires, Harrsk retreated into the Deep Core with the rest of the remaining fleet. Harrsk, wishing to bear a reminder of his hatred for the Rebel Alliance, refused bacta treatment, allowing his skin to severely scar and requiring the installation of an optical sensor to replace his damaged eye.
Hidden in the Deep Core, Harrsk mustered several of the surviving Imperial factions to his side, including the forces of the assassinated Grand Admiral Martio Batch, and eschewed his rank of Admiral for the self-created title of "Supreme Warlord". As the New Republic formed and grew in prestige, Harrsk began to strike against its border worlds with lightning raids. While Harrsk strived to re-establish Palpatine's galactic New Order, his desire for personal power led him to internecine war with other self-proclaimed warlords.
In 12 ABY, Harrsk began massing his forces in the Atrivis Sector. From his base on Spuma, Harrsk began building Imperial-class Star Destroyers to strengthen his fleet, and succeeded in building twelve new Star Destroyers, including Firestorm, Whirlwind, and Shockwave, the latter serving as Harrk's flagship. Shortly thereafter, Admiral Daala, having been defeated and forced into hiding, approached Harrsk to form a coalition against the burgeoning New Republic. Harrsk refused Daala's offer, and demanded that she lead his new fleet against "High Admiral" Teradoc, a competing warlord. Before Daala could assist Harrsk, Teradoc launched a surprise attack, destroying Shockwave, killing Daala's second-in-command, Kratas, and hamstringing Harrsk's plans.
Filled with rage, Harrsk threatened Daala into leading a counterattack against Teradoc. Daala parlayed the suicide mission into a negotiating piece by threatening to trigger the self-destruct on her Star Destroyer, a move that would ensure the death of both Harrsk and Teradoc. Her move managed to de-escalate the situation, and gave Daala the bargaining power she needed to convince Harrsk and Teradoc of the need to cooperate.
Harrsk was lured at the abandoned space station of Tsoss Beacon for a summit of Imperial warlords. There Harrsk, along with his enemies Teradoc and the "Superior General" Delvardus, were trapped and poisoned by Daala and then-Vice Admiral Gilad Pellaeon. The death of the squabbling warlords cleared the way for Daala to unite many of the remaining Imperial forces, as Grand Admiral Thrawn had done three years earlier, and to strike at the New Republic.
