The Supreme Court of Norway, located in Oslo, is Norway's highest court. It was established in 1815. It currently consists of eighteen judges in addition to the Chief Justice.
In most lawsuits the court meets in quorum, with five of the judges who meet to form the court. In special cases, especially when earlier decisions (with dissenting votes) are to be considered, the court meets in plenary session.
