Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic

The Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic was one of two supreme commanders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). It was held by an American admiral, with a British admiral as deputy.

In 2003 the position was reconstituted the Allied Command Transformation (ACT). This is located in Norfolk, Virginia, where the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic was based. It is headed by the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT), a U.S. flag (four star) admiral with the dual-hatted role as commander United States Joint Forces Command (COMUSJFCOM).
