The Supermarine Seafang was a British Rolls-Royce Griffon-engined fighter aircraft designed by Supermarine to Air Ministry specification N.5/45. It was essentially a Supermarine Spiteful redesigned for Royal Navy carrier use, with the addition of an arrestor hook and with a contra-rotating propeller to eliminate engine torque effects. It first flew in 1946. In all, 18 were built, but some were never flown. Its low speed handling characteristics were not as good as they hoped, and the Hawker Sea Fury was preferred.
