[edit] Wii specifics

The Wii version of this title will support 11 total courses. Both the single player and multiplayer game feature three different modes of play. In single player, these include a story mode, stroke play mode, and match mode, while in multiplayer, Balloon Pop mode replaces the story mode. In all modes, Pang (currency) can be earned and later spent on additional clothing or gear.

Players use the Wii controller to scroll and pan around the course, as well as to actually execute shots. To swing, players raise the controller behind them (as with a real club) until the on-screen power meter reaches the desired point. Once ready, players then hold down the "A" button and swing forward. The angle and speed of the forward swing is used to determine how close the actual shot comes to the desired shot.

As with all games in the Wii launch window, the game will not feature online play. Ryan Arbogast, Tecmo's product specialist, states in a recent interview that the story mode is expected to make up for the lack of online play. He also hints at the possibility of pay-to-play downloadable content, such as costumes and characters, similar to the horse armor of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

A recent update to the Japanese version of Pangya stated this new addition "You are now able to exchange exclusive items with the Wii Version" if this feature is carried over to the English speaking version is yet to be confirmed, however it suggests that perhaps online to offline trades will be possible as well.

[edit] E3 information

The official E3 trailer showcases the game in different ways. The most notable feature is the level of graphical improvement compared to the PC version. The developers have updated the textures, and the characters look to be affected more by lighting effects, such as dynamic lighting, self-body shadowing, and possibly HDR bloom. There are also more leaves and artifacts floating around realistically in the air, which shows that there has been an improvement in the particle system. Hair also appears to flow realistically, as well as it being separated into different tendrils.

The only course shown is an exact (albeit graphically superior) rendition of the first hole of Blue Lagoon. There has been no confirmation on which courses will be featured, but most likely there will be those that already exist on the PC version.

Hana is the first character to be featured in the trailer, making her signature popping jump before her first drive. Max also appears shirtless, often using his one-handed power drives. Kooh is also in the game; however, she is wearing a new pink costume instead of her old black costume, which opens up the possibility to new costumes exclusive to the Wii version. Arin is also shown in the trailer, wearing a costume of Tecmo's Kasumi. She is preparing for a drive, accompanied by the caddie Pipin.
