Captain Tsubasa Volume II: Super Striker is a continuation of the "Cinematic Soccer" series of games started on the Famicom. Released in 1990 by Tecmo this game is fairly similar to its predecessor but with some slight graphical improvements. It was also the last Tsubasa game to be released on the Famicom with the series moving to the Super Famicom two years later.

[edit] Cinematic Soccer

This term refers to the style of the gameplay. Rather than being a straight forward soccer sim like most would expect many of the Captain Tsubasa games featured fully animated cut scenes through out the match leaving the player to make key strategic decisions and then watch the outcome. This was much truer to the game's source material. It is considered as the best game in the series by fans mainly due to its graphics, its music, and its sheer difficulty.
