Suntribe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Suntribe are an Estonian girl-band, comprised entirely of students. The original four-strong line-up was Mari-Leen Kaselaan, Rebecca Kontus, Laura Põldvere and Jaanika Vilipo. The group has been selected to sing for their country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, to be held in Kyiv.
The group had to win Eurolaul, the country’s annual pre-selection competition for Eurovision. Their sternest rival proved to be one of their own members - Laura Põldvere was entered as a solo act, and her song Moonwalk attracted a healthy 9906 votes. However, for a third year running Estonia’s televoters demonstrated their apparent predilection for girl-bands, giving Suntribe's Let's Get Loud 10583 votes to earn the ticket to Kyiv.
Let’s Get Loud is written by Sven Lõhmus, who also penned the first in the run of girl-band entries to top the popular vote at Eurolaul, namely Vanilla Ninja's Club Kung-Fu in 2003.
Since Suntribe won the contest, they have been joined by a fifth member, Daana Ots.
