Sunset Center Amarillo

Sunset Center opened in the fall of 1962 on Plains Blvd. in Amarillo, Texas. Amarillo's first modern-day indoor mall with the region's first escalators, it was home to many retail outlets including JC Penneys for a number of years before succumbing to the popularity and convenience of Westgate Mall located right off Interstate 40. Now home to a BINGO hall, the old mall also is home to The Galleries at Sunset Center, featuring 32 studios representing over 100 contemporary and traditional artists, all under one roof.
