Sunny Deol (Hindi: शनि दियोल, Urdu: شنِ دِیول), born as Ajay Singh Deol (Hindi: अजय सिंह दियोल, Urdu: اَجے سِںہ دِیول) on October 19, 1956 in New Delhi, India) is an Indian film (Bollywood) actor.

Sunny Deol was born to actor Dharmendra and his first wife Prakash Kaur. He has five siblings:Bobby Deol,Nonu Deol ,Dolly Deol and half-sisters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. All three of them are actors and actresses respectively. Sunny is the stepson to actress Hema Malini.His cousin Sagar Deol.

Sunny Deol is married to Pooja and has two sons by the names Ranvir and Rajvir, the names that he incidentally chose for himself and brother Bobby Deol in his directorial debut movie Dillagi.

Sunny's debuted in the blockbuster movie Betaab in 1983 . A series of movies followed, though there were many that didn't succeed, several of his action films such as Tridev (1989), Ghayal (1990), Ghatak (1996), Ziddi (1997), Border (1997), Jeet (1995) and Indian (2001) went on to become big hits in his career.

Deol has also had successes in dramatic and romantic roles in films such as Damini (1993), Darr (1994) and Gadar - Ek Prem Katha (2001).

Sunny Deol has also tried his hand at direction with the (1999) film Dillagi starring himself and younger brother Bobby Deol & Urmila Matondkar. Even though Deol's direction was critically acclaimed , the film wasn't a Box Office success.

Sunny Deol has won a couple of Indian National Awards for his performances in Ghayal (Injured) (1990) & Damini (1993). He stars in one of the highest grossing films of Indian cinema, Gadar - Ek Prem Katha (2001). His other major hits, including his debut film are Betaab (1983), Arjun (1985), Paap Ki Duniya (1988), Tridev (1989), Chaalbaaz (1989), Darr (Fear) (1993), Jeet (Victory) (1996), Ghatak (1996), Ziddi (1997), Border (1997) & Indian (2001).
