Sundberg is a moderately common Swedish surname/family name meaning "bay mountain". (Swedish sund is cognate with the English word "sound", as in Puget Sound in Washington state; berg means "mountain".) On the Wikipedia list of Swedish surnames it appears as number 72 in frequency.
