[edit] History

The airline was established on 1 October 1977 as El Al Charter, which at the time was fully owned by the State; in January 2005 it became a private company.

Since April 2001, Sun d'Or has become a significant player in the charter market. Sun d'Or is also operating flights for incoming tourists, on behalf of European operators, and series of flights for Israeli operators. The productive cooperation between Sun d'Or and the tour operators led to a further increase in the number of Sun d'Or passengers to 350,000. [citation needed]
