Summer Girl, released on September 19, 2006, is the fifth album by the San Jose, California rock band Smash Mouth. The album was released with the promo single "Story Of My Life", which did surprisingly well on radio without any promotional support. It was shipped to over 600 radio stations in the United States, and it peaked at number 41 on the A/C Chart. The "Story Of My Life" music video was filmed in an episode in Season 6 of the VH1 reality show The Surreal Life.
It has recently been revealed by the Smash Mouth website moderator that "So Insane" is set to be the next promo single from Summer Girl.
The record was generally hailed as the band's best effort since Astro Lounge by fans. It largely mixed Smash Mouth's commercial accessability of their more recent albums, and the harder edged punk of Fush Yu Mang, in effect satisfying the band's wide array of fans.
