Sulya (Sullia)is a panchayat town in Dakshina Kannada district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is a taluk headquarters of Sullia taluk. This place once infested with mosquitoes and feared for malaria has now become an educational centre.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Sulya had a population of 18,026. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sulya has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 74%. In Sulya, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
