Sugar Loaf railway station is a remote countryside station in Powys and is the most remote station on the Heart of Wales Line. The railway station is located at the foot of Sugar Loaf Mountain next to the A483 road. This station is mainly used by trekkers and cyclists since it is the nearest stop to the Sugar Loaf vantage point.

[edit] Services

All trains serving the station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. There are four trains a day in each direction from Monday to Saturday, and two services on Sundays. This is a request stop, whereby passengers have to signal to the driver to board or alight from the train.

According to the Strategic Rail Authority in their 2002/2003 financial year it was the 14th least used station in the UK, with only 99 fare paying passengers travelling to or from it in that year. In 2004/2005 there were 122 passengers, making it the 16th least used.
