Suffield University

Suffield University is an unaccredited internet school specializing in what they call Life Experience Degrees. This type of organisation is generally described as a diploma mill. There is no standard for the degree, it is simply issued upon payment, and the life experience is based on the word of the applicant.[1] Suffield University is not accredited by any recognised accreditation body. As such, its degrees may not be acceptable to employers or other institutions, and use of degree titles may be restricted or illegal in some jurisdictions.
In 2003, The New Republic noted "the Florida fire department training commander caught last year with a degree in fire science from Suffield University, a mill 'accredited' by the bogus National Distance Learning Accreditation Council".[2] When discovered, the "graduates" of these degrees lost their jobs, promotions or pay rises (see external links below).
The states of Oregon and Texas list Suffield University as "operating illegally in Connecticut." [3]
