Sue Moroney is a New Zealand political candidate. She has stood as a candidate for the Labour Party on a number of occasions. In the 1996 elections, she contested the seat of Karapiro, and was 31st on the Labour list. In the 2002 elections, she contested Piako, but did not stand on the list. In the 2005 elections, she again contested Piako, and while unsuccessful in the electorate, was ranked 42nd on the Party List and so was elected to Parliament as a List MP. Moroney previously worked as a trainer of health and safety personnel, and has previously held a number of positions in the trade union movement. Her family is prominent in racehorse owning and training.
