Sue Birley

Sue Birley is currently a Non-Executive Director of the defense company BAE Systems. She has previously been a director of the NatWest Bank, Newchurch and Company, Process Systems Enterprise.

She has held a number of Government and public appointments including the Northern Ireland Economic Council, the DTI Deregulation Advisory Board, the DTI Spectrum Management Advisory Group, the Office of Science and Technology Foresight Steering Group, and the DTI Tech Stars Advisory Group.

Sue was a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Founder Director of The Entrepreneurship Centre at Imperial College until 2003. She has had various academic appointments including City University, London Business School, Cranfield University, and the University of Notre Dame. Sue is a Fellow of University College London, the Royal Statistical Society, the British Academy of Management, the City and Guilds of London Institute, the Royal Society of Arts and a Freeman of the City of London[1].

Sue has authored (and co-authored) various businesses, management and enterprise related non fiction books
