Sudzha

Sudzha (Russian: Суджа) is a town in Kursk Oblast, Russia, located on the rivers Sudzha and Olyoshnya some 105 km southwest of Kursk. Population: 6,800 (2005 est.); 7,045 (2002 Census).

Sudzha was founded in the 17th century as a part of the system of fortifications defending the southern approaches to Moscow. It was granted town status in 1664.
