StudySmart, Inc. is a nationwide, private education and tutoring company. The company now operates in seven metropolitan areas including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington DC. StudySmart is headquartered in the Boston area, offering standardized test preparation as well as academic subject and study skills tutoring.

StudySmart was founded in 1999 by Rich Enos and Greg Zumas, who started the business in order to deliver personalized in-home tutoring solutions as an alternative to uniform classroom courses. The company is growing quickly in the United States. In 2006, StudySmart opened its first Los Angeles and San Francisco area offices.

StudySmart Standardized Test Prep helps high school students to achieve higher scores on the SAT, ACT, PSAT and SAT II.
StudySmart Academic Subjects assists students of all grade levels (K-12) to improve their classroom performance in Math, Science and Foreign Language.
StudySmart Study Skills refines students’ learning strategies in Time Management, Test Preparation, Goal Setting, Test Taking, Organization, Paper Writing, Note Taking and Reading.

StudySmart has several competitors in each of its focus areas: Kaplan, Inc., Sylvan Learning, The Princeton Review and Peterson’s are among StudySmart’s largest competitors. However, the company’s exclusive in-home tutoring services distinguish it from other education providers.
