Student Pilot Certificate
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the U.S., a student pilot certificate is issued to a pilot in training, and is a pre-requisite for the student to fly alone in the aircraft, or solo. It is usually initially issued by an aviation medical examiner in combination with the student’s first medical certificate. Find an FAA Designated physician for your exam. This doctor will also issue a combination medical and student pilot certificate, and the flight instructor will eventually endorse the certificate thereby granting the applicant student pilot priveleges.
Obtaining a legitimate student pilot certificate requires 3 steps:
1. pass a flight physical 2. receive ground and flight instruction 3. receive endorsement from a certified flight instructor
