[edit] Introduction
Stuart Woods is an American writer whose works mostly belong to the genre of crime fiction. His novels seem to be more versatile than the average crime fiction author. Most of them have a slightly more interesting twist and background than your plain vanilla 'whodunit'. His popular character "Stone Barrington" is a James Bond type who regularly encounters a hodgepodge of damsels, cars, international intrigue, spies, guns, cops, and gangsters.
One interesting common thread that seems to run through all his books is the fictional town of Delano, Georgia. His first book Chiefs is set in that town. Most of his other books have at least one character (often the protagonist) who hails from there.
