Stuart Schweigert

Stuart Schweigert (b. Saginaw, Michigan, June 21, 1981) is a professional American football player.

Schweigert graduated from Purdue University, and began his professional career with the Oakland Raiders in 2005. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2004 NFL Draft

He attended Heritage High School in Saginaw, and was ranked as the No. 9 defensive back and No. 78 player overall in the nation by the Prep Football Report...Ranked as the No. 18 best skill athlete by SuperPrep and a four-star recruit (out of four) by Rivals.com...PrepSport All-American and named to the Detroit News and Saginaw News dream teams...Totaled 1,502 rushing yards with 22 touchdowns as an option quarterback, threw for 500 yards with four touchdowns and recorded 50 tackles with three interceptions and seven pass breakups on defense en route to being named the Detroit Athletic Club Male Athlete of the Year as senior...Led the league in rushing and scoring ... Schweigert has a history of legal problems with alcohol. In June 1999, he was arrested for possession of alcohol while driving and providing false information in Saginaw. Six months later, Schweigert was cited by Purdue campus police for underage drinking.

On April 27, 2003, he was arrested on charges of public intoxication during his senior year at Purdue. That led to a benching for the first half of a win at Penn State, the first and only time Schweigert wasn't on the field in his four years of Purdue football.
