Stuart Murdoch (football manager)

Stuart Murdoch is the former manager of the Milton Keynes Dons (formerly Wimbledon F.C.), a former goalkeeping coach fired November 8, 2004 after compiling one of the worst won-lost records in the history of the Football League. He had been appointed in May 2002 after the controversial dismissal of his respected predecessor, Terry Burton, and in his first season in charge (2002-03) had guided Wimbledon to 10th in Division One.

Murdoch remained in charge at Wimbledon F.C. throughout the disastrous 2003-04 season during which the club declared itself insolvent and went into administration to specifically prepare it for a takeover, and relocation to Milton Keynes. But the change of hands came too late to save the club from relegation from Division One. In the close season, Wimbledon F.C was renamed Milton Keynes Dons, but the team's fortune on the pitch remained poor. Murdoch was sacked on 8th November 2004 with the team second from bottom in the Coca Cola League One. He was replaced by Danny Wilson, former manager of Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.

In July 2005 Murdoch joined Bournemouth and initially became part-time goalkeeping coach. Until September 2006, when along with youth team coach Joe Roach, he became caretaker manager of the club following the departure of long-serving manager Sean O'Driscoll to Doncaster Rovers.
