Stuart Lesley Braithwaite (born 10 May 1976) is the lead member of the Glaswegian post-rock band Mogwai.
He mainly plays electric guitar. Stuart currently lives in Glasgow with his wife, Grainne Braithwaite, and their two dogs, Princess and Rambo.

He grew up listening to records by Joy Division, The Stooges, The Velvet Underground, Black Sabbath, and many other artists. He went to Music College. He met Dominic Aitchison at a Ned's Atomic Dustbin concert in 1991, and four years later, they formed Mogwai.

- He is vegetarian.
- He played the guitar solo from "Another Girl, Another Planet" by The Only Ones to get into Music College.
- The Velvet Underground song "Heroin" was the first song he learned to play on the guitar.
- He is a supporter of Celtic FC.
- Disintegration by The Cure was the first album he bought.
- He has said that Hero and The Exorcist are his favourite films.
