[edit] Counties (Detached Parts) Act
Hi. I see you moved this to 1843. Could you cit a source for this? I copied the details from the statute book, where its date for receiving the royal assent is given as August 6, 1844. The Regnal year (7&8 Vict.) also indicates 1844! Lozleader 13:48, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, and i just looked through the Local Government Act 1972 and can't find any reference to repealing the Act - agin if you can cite an authority i'd be grateful, othrewise a revert will be in order. Lozleader 13:56, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Situation resolved. It was 1844 and it was repealed in 1972.Lozleader 14:40, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, I moved this page because a book I have A history of Wiltshire refers to it as the "Counties (detached parts) Act 1843". I understood that it was formulated and received assent in 43 and actually had effect in 44. A misprint is possible however so I'll stand corrected if multiple other sources say it got its assent in 44. Stringops 15:40, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- No probs. Lozleader 15:56, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
